Course Introduction

Water is becoming more and more of a scarce resource worldwide. The needs for water increase at a rate that is three times faster than the corresponding increase in population. By the year 2025 one third of the earth’s population will be living in water-crisis conditions while 52 countries will be considered anhydrous. Therefore, the need for proper and wise management of available water resources is emerging as an issue of critical importance. This COPEX training course is suitable for professionals and policy makers in the water industry, covering the utility sector (e.g. potable water) as well as industrial and commercial applications (e.g. electricity generation, water re-use).

Objectives

By attending this COPEX training course you should achieve the following:

  • Engineers and other technical staff involved in water treatment, storage and distribution installations (e.g. Water Boards, Industry, Hospitals, Hotels, Power stations)
  • Hygiene inspectors acting on behalf of official Public Health and Environmental authorities for the implementation of potable and recycled water legislations
  • Inspection bodies personnel, Health & Safety advisors and consultants involved in the water treatment and monitoring industry
  • Administrative personnel involved in the drafting and writing up of national guidelines and legislations regarding the quality of potable and other water supplies
  • Procurement officers (commissioning of WWTP’s and Desalination Plants, Tendering Departments in the Utility sector)

Course Outline

Day 1: Amongst a comprehensive range of water resources management topics, the following will be particularly stressed:

  • Review of the global water reserves and basic concerns on water quality and quantity
  • Understanding your water needs and making the best selection from the available resources
  • Taking the right decision on whether to treat existing supplies or outsource
  • Financial, Legal and Health & Safety risks involved in the water industry
  • Reference to and understanding of basic chemistry and microbiology water quality indicators
  • Potable water treatment techniques, including Reverse Osmosis, ion exchange and softening
  • Recycled water and its applications to agriculture and industry
  • Potable and recycled water disinfection techniques
  • World Health Organization (WHO) and European Guidelines on drinking and recycled water
  • How to design and implement an effective monitoring regime for your water supplies
  • Using the results of a water analysis as a tool towards improving water quality

Our cancellation policy varies depending on the circumstances presented. Generally, cancellations must be initiated in formal writing at least 14 days prior to the commencement date of the training course. Further, the option to shift an existing registration to another training course on a later date is possible. Otherwise, a full refund will be initiated.

Our training courses courses are being held at five-star hotels in prime and iconic destinations across the globe. Cities such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dubai, Geneva, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, London, Houston, New York, Paris, Vienna, Zurich, etc.

Our training courses will run for 5 hours per day. The standard daily timing is from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm including the coffee/tea breaks and lunch.

The training course fee can be settled by either:

Published training course fees are inclusive of the training venue, training manual, writing materials, lunch and coffee breaks with refreshments over the entire duration of the training course.
