Course Introduction

Producing energy and emergency preparedness is a 24/7 business. The range and number of potential incidents and emergencies which could affect, disrupt, or put stress upon oil and gas production, including upstream or downstream technical failures; human errors, sabotage or terrorism are increasing. If managed correctly then not all these incidents will be critical or could be classed as a crisis, but those which result in significant losses, or put increased demand on the organisation will have serious consequences for the company, the company’s stakeholders, the country and the reputation of all those involved in the response.

Day 2: Day Two

Emergency Communications & Incident On-Scene Command

  • Emergency Communication Centre information flow, how to avoid mistakes
  • Call Centre Management, how to handle the huge amounts of inquiries from media, families and other stakeholders
  • Team roles and responsibilities, extract the best from your team
  • Crisis Communications examples of information sharing, what can go wrong?
  • Manage ‘’smouldering’’ corporate issues before they become Crises
  • Critical role of the First Responder/s and On-Scene Commander. All the essential elements for success
  • The ‘Golden Hour: managing the first hour after the crisis breaks before stakeholders learn of it from social/normal media.
  • Simulation of a time-lapsed Major Incident at a Refinery. Delegates will be allocated roles responding to a rapidly developing scenario

Day 3: Day Three

Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Incident Command (ICS) for the Oil & Gas Industry

  • The essential role of BCM in Crisis Management
  • Plans and Business Impact Analysis, formats, examples and templates
  • Team Roles and Responsibilities
  • Terrorist attack on an asset
  • The Incident Command System (ICS) and team skill sets for CMT, EMT & ERT

  • Corporate Social Responsibility or Government Regulation on Oil Spill Prevention
  • International Standards for BCM (ISO25999) ICS, Spills (SPCC), Environmental, Major Accident & Hazards Reg’s (COMAH & NFPA1600), Reporting requirements

Day 4: Day Four

Developing Effective, Quick & Practical Media & Communications Skills

  • Tools to manage social media (blogs, twitter, face book) always be one step ahead!
  • Strategies to build Reputation, before, during and after the crisis, build on your corporate brand identity, renew trust and stakeholder value
  • Protect your reputation and brand with your customers, suppliers and bankers
  • Media Support and the role of the designated Spokesperson including the Do’s and Don’ts for Conferences and TV Interviews
  • How to develop an effective Communications/Media Plan
  • Syndicate Media Crisis response to a given real-life scenario followed immediately by a simulated Press Conference

Crisis Management Plan Testing, Training, Auditing and Exercise Simulations

Our cancellation policy varies depending on the circumstances presented. Generally, cancellations must be initiated in formal writing at least 14 days prior to the commencement date of the training course. Further, the option to shift an existing registration to another training course on a later date is possible. Otherwise, a full refund will be initiated.

Our training courses courses are being held at five-star hotels in prime and iconic destinations across the globe. Cities such as Amsterdam, Barcelona, Dubai, Geneva, Istanbul, Kuala Lumpur, London, Houston, New York, Paris, Vienna, Zurich, etc.

Our training courses will run for 5 hours per day. The standard daily timing is from 8:30 am – 3:30 pm including the coffee/tea breaks and lunch.

Published training course fees are inclusive of the training venue, training manual, writing materials, lunch and coffee breaks with refreshments over the entire duration of the training course.
