Course Introduction

In today’s complex economic environment, traditional models that assume rational decision-making are no longer sufficient to explain real-world behavior. Markets are influenced by psychological biases, social pressures, emotional responses, and cognitive limitations that shape how individuals, organizations, and governments make economic choices. Behavioral Economics bridges the gap between classical economic theory and actual human behavior by integrating insights from psychology, neuroscience, and decision science.

This comprehensive training course explores how behavioral principles transform modern economic thinking and decision-making processes across policy, finance, marketing, public administration, and corporate strategy. Participants will gain a deep understanding of behavioral biases, heuristics, nudging techniques, and behavioral market dynamics, and learn how to apply these insights to improve policy design, business performance, and strategic planning.

Through case studies, simulations, and practical frameworks, the course equips professionals with tools to predict behavior, design effective incentives, optimize decision environments, and enhance economic outcomes in both public and private sectors.

Objectives

By the end of this training course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand core principles of behavioral economics and how they differ from classical theory
  • Identify cognitive biases affecting economic decisions

  • Design decision environments that guide better outcomes
  • Evaluate consumer and investor behavior patterns
  • Improve forecasting accuracy using behavioral data
